What “Lucky” Really Means (From a Boudoir Photographer in Columbus, Ohio)
It’s St. Patrick’s Day, and today especially, I keep thinking about how often we look at another woman and think, she’s so lucky.
But lucky for what, exactly?
Lucky to have her body?
Lucky to look confident?
Lucky to seem so comfortable in her own skin?
What we usually don’t see is that what we call “luck” is often something much quieter and much deeper.
As a boudoir photographer in Columbus Ohio, I get a front-row seat to this shift all the time.
She’s lucky because she stopped picking herself apart.
She’s lucky because she made peace with her body instead of fighting it.
She’s lucky because she learned how to see her features as part of her story, not flaws to fix.
The curve of her hips that carry her through life.
The softness that holds warmth and comfort.
The lines, the scars, the stretch marks that prove she’s lived and loved and grown.
That kind of “luck” doesn’t come from a four-leaf clover. It comes from perspective.
And here’s the thing I wish more women knew: the parts you admire in other women are very often the same parts someone else admires in you.
The feature you hide is the feature someone else finds beautiful.
The softness you criticize is the softness that makes you human.
And in a boudoir photo shoot, that’s exactly what we capture, not perfection, but truth.
The body you’re in right now is already worthy of love, respect, and celebration.
So today, instead of wishing for luck, maybe this is your reminder to notice what you already have.
You are lucky to have a body that has carried you this far.
Lucky to have a story written in every curve and line.
Lucky to be here, exactly as you are, taking up space in the world.
If you’ve ever considered working with a boudoir photographer in Central Ohio, let this be your nudge. Not to change yourself, but to finally see yourself.
No pressure to change.
No need to become someone else.
Just an invitation to step into a boudoir photo shoot and see yourself a little more kindly today. 🍀
